Our History
Agile Enterprise was founded in 1992 by a group of former ATEX employees that ventured off to create a sophisticated workgroup publishing software solution named Teambase that not only utilized industry standard desktop publishing tools such as QuarkXPress and Microsoft Word, but also uniquely shared the production pages across multiple departments and users, and managed the content in a centralized database.

Agile’s success began to grow over the following eight years with numerous client installations at customers such as Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, American Medical News Association, and various medium size newspaper companies.

As a result of Agile’s successes, extensive technology expertise with publishing solutions, and team of industry professionals, Applied Graphics Technologies, Inc. (AGT) purchased Agile Enterprise in 1999. The addition of the Teambase software to AGT’s existing Digital Link software platform (a proprietary imaging workflow and management solution) provided them with a highly configurable page production and content management suite. Product teams for both platforms were consolidated and numerous “intra-company” Teambase installations were underway to provide production management services for clients such as Home Depot, Sears, Columbia House, and Mervyn’s Department Stores to mention a few.

In 2004, in an effort to create a more unified group of companies, AGT and all affiliates, with the exception of Agile Enterprise, were re-branded under the name Seven Worldwide. Schawk, Inc., a Chicago-based company purchased Seven Worldwide in January, 2005. In March of 2006 Schawk sold off its Book, Publishing, certain Catalog and New York operations (including Agile Enterprise) to The Caps Group Acquisition, LLC.
